About Us
The Site
NewsLook.com is a different kind of news site. Journalists and documentarians comb the web (so you don't have to) for the best produced visual news stories and analysis of the issues affecting our lives.
We believe that when presenting the news, one should present the facts even though those facts can be interpreted in different ways. Far too often, the messenger can impact the message, which is why we pull from so many diverse sources around the world, ranging from the customary to the unconventional.
Our choices are not based on the ideological leanings of the stories, but rather the quality of their presentation. In essence, we are global editors who pull the best materials using solid journalistic criteria.
With a constant barrage of information overloading our senses – some accurate and some not, NewsLook.com is committed to presenting only stories that we can verify as being accurate. Distinctively, NewsLook.com puts stories into context, helping you to make better sense of the information. Unlike most aggregators, we are not a fully automated site, but rather use human curators to contextualize the stories. Therefore, when you choose a specific video, you will often see beside it three columns, Different Perspectives, Background and Analysis & Additional Stories as they relate to that story.
Our editors will recommend particularly well-produced stories, but we also provide several ways for you to filter your own news. You can search for stories based on your own preferences by subject, source, length, and ideology. If you choose to create a free account you can comment on particular videos.
We encourage your input. If you see a great story that belongs on NewsLook.com, let us know. If we misstated a story, tell us. In this way, you help to make NewsLook.com a vibrant community that explores and debates the information of the day.
