Plug-in electric cars are replacing hybrids as the preferred green solution for auto manufacturers at the New York Auto Show. Fisker released its new Atlantic, BMW its new i8 Spyder - the convertible version of the Mission Impossible car, while Ford, Toyota, Smart and Volvo all showed off plug-in electrics.
