American Academy of Pediatricians Says It Is Riskier Not to Circumcise a Baby Boy

but this to doctors in the united states have taken a strong public stand on the circumcision issue the academy of pediatricians says it's actually a risk here not to have a baby boys circumcised that could lead to some major health issues down the road shot in north scott taking a look at what they said the latest voice in the debate and john this is a voice that is strong and clear on this issue yeah absolutely thirty years ago or so nobody thought twice about the circumcised infants in fact but the seven year eighty percent of americans today about the same number in canada in the last twenty years or so it has become a matter of public debate those same areas that those abusive the child the child has no say in a matter of being of their own but three weeks old and that it amounts to a physical and abuse of the infant out of the american academy of pediatrics coming out saying that hold on a second there may be some negative effects of this but overall when you consider the risks of h i v sexually transmitted diseases urinary tract infections most pianists cancer they say look this could cost you four billion dollars down the road to the american health care system by not doing this informal procedure when they are young this is encountered that push back in well from an organization called in attack today are those that have been at the forefront of battling against circumcision of infants they're calling on the academy of pediatrics to retract their statements and saying that it is a native american doctors acting in their own self interest because the doctors are calling for it to be covered by health insurance and the u s medical people say it is for prevention down the road with this organization tracks taxing all be dissecting the bureau itself so that's interesting call calling for insurance to be covering it in the united states how does it work for us and canada are different health care system john well of course different in different province by province and the biggest problem said ontario has that taken out the use of the line to pay for it knowing always it's about two hundred dollars that that would be about a fifth of the cost in the united states out but for about two hundred two hundred dollars but they would allow presidents to take place on the other hand if you would have if you have a medical reason for it but then there would be no charge for it so that is something fairly recent that the province has stopped paying for it let's see if the decision up by the american doctors makes any difference here in this country
