SUGGESTED SCRIPT: Businessman, governor, a leader in his Church -- and now, Mitt Romney could soon add to that list: "first ever Mormon president of the United States." The son of a former presidential candidate, Romney made a first bid for the White House in 2008 -- but lost in the Republican primary to John McCain. Now, after more than six years of campaigning, the ultimate prize is finally well within his sight. Romney's built up his image over time as a business success and loving family man. Married to Ann for more than 40 years, he is a father of five -- and a grandfather of 18. He co-founded the private equity firm Bain Capital in 1984 -- and went from wealthy to multimillionaire. That experience has won him praise, but also forced him to battle an image as too cold and corporate -- and his campaign slips haven't helped. He critized 47 percent of Americans for being too dependent on government aid, and pledged to cut funding for programs like those behind the beloved Big Bird. But Romney's fought hard on the campaign trail to appear less wooden, and more personable. His performance in the first presidential debate helped, pushing him to a tie in the polls -- and, in some, even eclipsing Obama.
