Eight years after the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, his memory lives on through a 59-year-old fruit and vegetable vendor in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Dressed in a green military outfit and checkered black and white headscarf, Salem Smeirat draws in crowds as he salutes passers-by. A father of six from the city of Yatta south of Hebron, Salem has worked as an Arafat look-alike at weddings and parties since 2004.
