Prince William Attends Royal Premiere of 'The Hobbit'

'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' star Sir Ian McKellen said a report he has cancer is "an old story" and "no cause for alarm" as he was joined by Prince William and fellow cast members at the film's Royal premiere in London.

Middle Earth came to London as did Prince William for the Royal Premiere of The Hobbit. He arrived without Kate who was still suffering from extreme morning sickness. The Hobbit is the original story of by J.R.R. Tolkein and follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins. Returning to this adaptation are some very familiar faces from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, who were invited to have a Royal premiere by William and Kate themselves. It was reported this week that Ian McKellen who plays Gandalf is suffering from prostate cancer. The Hobbit follows Bilbo Baggins as he goes on a quest to retrieve a group of dwarves' treasure which has been usurped by a fierce dragon. The original Lord of the Rings series was praised for its innovation. However, this time there has been criticism of director Peter Jackson's innovative use of a new cinematic frame rate. The Hobbit goes on release nearly everywhere in the world from this weekend.
