The cause of death was not immediately known. The highly decorated four-star general led coalition forces that drove Iraqi President Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Schwarzkopf, a burly Vietnam War vet, was known for his explosive temper. He was 78.
