Edmunds.com's Senior Auto Analyst Jessica Caldwell says Tesla's latest announcement that it will recall 29,000 Model S cars because of issues with the wall charger power adapter will not hurt the brand. Caldwell says unlike other larger brands, Tesla owners are "brand evangelists" who are passionate about the cars. Caldwell says the next frontier for automakers will be figuring out what consumers like in terms of fuel efficiency and whether it's all-electric or hybrids. While Tesla competes with other electric vehicles on the market, Caldwell says there are also a lot of new sports cars, slated for release later in 2014, which could give the boutique carmaker a run for its' money. TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez has more from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
