Angelina Jolie immortalised in wax at Paris' Grevin Museum

Actress Angelina Jolie's waxwork is unveiled at the Grevin Museum of waxworks in Paris. Rollo Ross reports.

Angelina Jolie may be a prolific Hollywood actress, a director, and a humanitarian ambassador but now she has a new string to her bow as she's been chosen to be the latest star to be turned into wax at the Grevin Museum in Paris. Only around six or seven celebrities are picked every year, so Angelina finds herself in much more exclusive company than other waxwork museums. The lifesize statue was dressed in the same tuxedo style outfit Jolie wore to the 2014 BAFTA awards in London and took sculptor Stephane Barret, who also created Brad Pitt's waxwork, six months to make. SOUNDBITE Sculptor, Stephane Barret, saying (French): "It's true that I have made the couple, so I am very happy to have produced this symbolic Hollywood couple and I think the final result is a beautiful figure." But did the Parisian passers-by believe that Barret had done a good job? SOUNDBITE Passer-by, Valerie Amate, saying (French) "It's very realistic, and I also think that you really see Angelina Jolie the person in the expression of the eyes." SOUNDBITE Passer-by, Mr. Grauwin, saying (French) "No, not at all, not at all, it's ugly, it's not great." If you want to make up your own mind about the sculpture, Angelina's waxwork will soon be on display alongside her partner Brad Pitt in the 19th Century museum.
