The reality show "Cops" has turned into a life-threatening reality for one crew member. During a Tuesday night taping of an armed robbery, one of the show's employees was shot, according to Deputy Police Chief David Baker. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF, DAVE BAKER, SAYING: "Officers discovered an armed robbery in progress at the Wendy's at 43rd and Dodge. Initial officer radioed for backup, other officers arrived. There were shots fired at that time... After the shots fired, there were two persons transported by squad (to the) University of Nebraska Medical Center. The suspect of the armed robbery is since been declared deceased at the hospital. The other person transported to the hospital at that time was an employee of the COPS television program." The show, on air since 1989, describes itself as one of the first true and unscripted reality shows. Initial reports said the employee was in critical condition.
